Hommel’, (2026) Collage of Objects Found in the Studio, 13 x 18 cm. This work will be on view as part of ‘The Short Night Show’. In ‘The Short Night Show’ Rufus Gallery presents a distinctly midsummer mix of eighteen artists. Familiar names and new voices converge in a group show that balances between playfulness and intensity, between daydream and twilight.
Welcome to the opening Saturday 13 June from 16.00—20.00h. 🌅
Taking midsummer as their starting point – the tipping point at which the days reach their longest – the artists each present one or more works that reflect their personal interpretation. With .devisscher .lynen .info
The show runs from 13.06—12.07.2026. Open on Saturdays & Sundays from 14.00-18.00h. and by appointment during weekdays! Contact us for full catalog and availability of the works: [email protected]

For his first solo exhibition at Rufus Gallery, Nicolas Keppens draws on characters and motifs from fairy tales and animated films, with the genie from Aladdin as the central figure. Keppens presents a new range of imaginary sculptures, installations and drawings. Here, the genie appears as the ultimate pleaser: a character who fulfils desires, yet remains trapped in that role himself. From this tension, What will your pleasure be? explores conformist behaviour, dependency and the hidden labour behind what others desire.
