Attention photographers: last 10 days to secure your participation in "CREATIVE IMMERSION 4" with an early-bird rebate!💥📸🍁

This fourth "CREATIVE IMMERSION" will consist in a 3-day intensive retreat co-led by 3 acclaimed mentors and taking place in the secluded and uniquely nurturing setting of the FOTOFILMIC Space located on Bowen Island, BC, Canada, over the first weekend of October. The retreat will offer a small group of photographers the opportunity to receive multiple-focus, in-depth review time of their work and practice at large in a longer format than typical portfolio reviews that can encourage sustained conversation and activate practical solutions to creative blocks. Headed by highly recognized practitioners and influential shapers of contemporary photographic culture, Creative Immersion retreats also provides participants with grounding elements of community, connection, belonging, and visibility, while lending their work a generous, safe and open gallery context for meaningful, collegial examination and reinvention.

Leading this 4th program edition are acclaimed artists Mimi Plumb and Carolyn Drake, both West Coast photographers, recipients of a prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship and authors of many highly sought-after books, and Atlanta-based High Museum of Art Photography Curator Gregory Harris, known for mounting over a dozen groundbreaking exhibitions there over the past decade.

Participants will leave with a renewed sense of confidence in their work and in its potential for further dissemination, strengthened ties with both talented peers and important, caring mentors, and a refined understanding of their overall position as photographers making sense of our tense, current moment.

Happy last Friday of March, photographers!

In case you missed it, early bird registrations are ongoing until April 15 only for "CREATIVE IMMERSION 4", our new 3-day intensive gathering in the early fall led by acclaimed artists Mimi Plumb and Carolyn Drake, and High Museum of Art Curator Gregory Harris!

Each mentor will offer the attending group tailored morning presentations focused on their distinct creative tracks and achievements, and on sharing their invaluable experience navigating the increasingly complex realities of building successful artistic practices today. All three mentors will then lend their sharp intercrossing lenses to the participants’ work during three afternoon-long review sessions. During these, each participant will receive a full hour review with the three mentors and the group, as well as individual studio/wall/table space where to lay out in full their current project/portfolio and edit/reflect feedback in real time. In the early evening and morning time, participants will get the chance to wander along Bowen Island’s countless scenic trails, breathe in its serene natural landscape, and experience our small community’s genuine friendliness and caring spirit (Bowen is among Canada’s safest!).

Participants will leave with a renewed sense of confidence in their work and in its potential for further dissemination, strengthened ties with both talented peers and important, caring mentors, and a refined understanding of their overall position as photographers making sense of our tense, current moment.

Only 2 more days to secure your Early Bird spot in "TOKYO TRICKSTER", a rare 3-day workshop in central Tokyo led by acclaimed photographic artist Torbjørn Rødland!

TORBJØRN RØDLAND:
“TOKYO TRICKSTER”
APRIL 8-10 WORKSHOP
TOKYO, JAPAN

In his workshop, Rødland will encourage participants to photograph Tokyo with an eye toward masquerade and symbolism—blurring the line between fantasy and everyday life, while also looking to popular Japanese culture for the disruption of familiar narratives and the challenging of binary oppositions. These three thrilling days with Rødland in Tokyo will include roundtable conversations where participants will receive each other’s as well as his responses to their work, city explorations in response to assignments, a one-on-one portfolio review, and a final group critique.

Don't miss this mentorship experience of a lifetime to inform the participants' artistic vision for years to come! Send your registration application by Saturday, January 31st, at:
