Can municipalities, hospitals or school boards apply?

Publicly funded organizations may be considered, but Community Grants generally do not fund their normal annual operating costs or core publicly funded services.

An enhanced service, special initiative or project that falls outside regular government funding may be eligible. The application must clearly explain why the project is not funded through existing government or public funding sources.

Can we apply for a project taking place in a school?

Potentially. Projects involving primary or secondary schools must include a Letter of Permission from the relevant School Board.

The project should also represent an enhancement beyond the school's regular publicly funded programming.

What should the school's Letter of Permission say?

The letter should confirm that the School Board is aware of and supports the proposed project or activity involving its school(s) or students.

Fall Community Grants are OPEN! 🍂

Technology can create connection when it's designed with inclusion in mind.

Last year, Community Foundation Grey Bruce awarded $3,199 to Reach Centre Grey Bruce for Boundaries and Bridges, a project that developed an app to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn how to build safe, positive online relationships in a supportive environment.

The app mirrors familiar social media platforms while providing a safe space to learn digital skills. It also includes a caregiver dashboard, giving families an additional tool to support safe online experiences. Designed to be scalable, it has the potential to benefit many more people in the future.

This is the kind of innovative impact Community Grants can have across Grey Bruce.
