Local Stories: Changing Weather opens this Saturday.
This exhibit, developed by the Georgian Bluffs Climate Action Team, is a true community effort. It shares the personal experiences and insights of locals - farmers, teachers, businesspeople, and community members as they adapt to increasingly unpredictable weather patterns.
Join us for the launch celebration this Saturday from 1-4 PM, and don’t miss the exhibit at Grey Roots, on display throughout 2026.

Today's featured community is Hanover. Originally known as Buck's Crossing, derived from Abraham Buck who came upon the town site in 1849, then Adamtown, Hanover was strategically located at an intersection of a branch of the Saugeen River and the Durham Road. Soon after, a stream of predominantly German settlers made their way to the area in search of land. A store and post office was opened in 1856 and a tannery was built in 1860. Hanover would continue to grow into an important town with many businesses and industries.
