Miigwetch to everyone who came out to Wanuskewin on September 30th!

This day for Truth and Reconciliation drew many people from all across Canada, and we want to thank everyone who joined us for the screening of I AM GITXSAN and stayed afterwards for the opening reception of Adele Arseneau’s Sacred Bundle exhibition.

A special miigwetch to director Hossein Martin Fazeli for joining us and sharing I AM GITXSAN with our community, and to Adele for sharing her work and bringing Sacred Bundle to the Olivia Gallery.

It means a lot to see people come out, spend time together, engage with the work, and support the artists and filmmakers who share their stories with us.

Miigwetch to everyone who helped make the day possible, and to everyone who took the time to be there.

There is strength in coming together.

For more than 6,400 years, Wanuskewin has been a place where people gather, share knowledge, build relationships and connect with the land.

Today, that spirit of gathering continues through The Circle, the Wanuskewin Corporate Partnership Circle.

The Circle brings together businesses and charitable organizations who believe that supporting Wanuskewin can be about more than a traditional sponsorship. It is about building meaningful relationships, creating shared impact and investing in a future where culture, education, land and community continue to thrive.

Partnerships can take many forms, from cultural learning and reconciliation commitments to employee engagement, hospitality, programming and recognition. Each relationship is co-created to reflect the goals and values of the organization involved.

As Wanuskewin looks toward a defining chapter in its journey toward UNESCO World Heritage designation, strong partnerships matter more than ever.

The Circle is an invitation to walk together.

Wanuskewin is excited to share our next community exhibition, “The Old Ways Were Never Old Ways”.

This exhibition was created in partnership with Professor Colleen Charles and her students from the Indigenous Studies class at First Nations University of Canada, curated by Wanuskewin’s Marcel Robitaille.

“The Old Ways Were Never Old Ways” explores the connection between the past and the present. Artistic expression has changed over thousands of years, but the knowledge and skills needed to create have continued to be passed down by the Ancestors.

The materials, styles, and ways of expressing ourselves may change with time, but the knowledge behind them continues. These are not simply old ways that belong to the past. They are living knowledge that continues to be carried forward, adapted, and shared today.

“The Old Ways Were Never Old Ways” opens to the public in the Greg Yuel Gallery on October 24.

Wanuskewin would like to invite everyone to join us for the exhibition reception on November 7.

We hope you’ll come out, see the work, and spend some time with the students and the ideas behind the exhibition 🪶

There’s something special about bringing people together at Wanuskewin.

From the moment your guests arrive, to the food shared around the table, to the stories and teachings that stay with them long after the event is over, every gathering has the opportunity to become more than just a meeting.

We’re grateful to hear that Darko and his team had such a wonderful experience with us. ❤️

“Fantastic place and fantastic time that we had there.”

Thank you for trusting Wanuskewin to be part of your gathering. We’d love to welcome your team next.

What a great couple of days at WOBE 2026! 👋

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by the Wanuskewin Heritage Park booth at Warman’s Open for Business Exhibition.

We loved connecting with local businesses, community members and organizations, sharing more about the work happening at Wanuskewin and learning about the incredible things happening in the Warman community and beyond.

From conversations about conferences and events to fundraising, partnerships and the work we’re doing to care for the land, there were so many great conversations over the two days.

Thank you to the WOBE team for creating such a welcoming space for local businesses to connect, and thank you to everyone who came out to say hello.

We hope to see you at Wanuskewin soon! 🦬🌾

More than 2,100 people gathered at Wanuskewin on September 30.

Survivors. Elders. Families. Volunteers. Community members. Organizations. Leaders. Friends and neighbours.

Together, we came to listen. To learn. To remember. To honour Survivors and those who never came home.

And together, we held space for reflection, connection and the ongoing work of reconciliation.

These moments are made possible by the people who show up, share their stories, lend their time, and continue to walk this path together.

To everyone who joined us for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, thank you for being there.

Here are a few moments from a powerful day at Wanuskewin. 🧡
