Artist Spotlight | Roy Leadbeater

Canadian artist Roy Leadbeater created expressive landscapes that reflected both the spirit of the natural world and his curiosity toward life’s deeper questions.

After decades of artistic practice, Roy continued to paint and sculpt with a sense of wonder, believing creativity was a lifelong journey of discovery.

“What you run out of is time.”

Though Roy passed away in 2017, his legacy continues through the work and ideas he left behind.

For many artists, submitting work to galleries can feel uncertain. Questions around quality, professionalism, artistic voice, and what galleries are actually looking for often exist long before a submission is ever sent.

What Galleries Actually Look for When Reviewing Artist Submissions reflects on the importance of cohesion, presentation, consistency, curatorial alignment, and why gallery decisions are often about more than a single strong artwork.

Artist Spotlight | Frank Chinea Inguanzo

For , painting began not as ambition, but as survival. After profound heartbreak, he turned to art at 45 years old, transforming grief, memory, and emotion into a deeply personal visual language.

Influenced by Expressionism and artists such as Marc Chagall and Emil Nolde, Frank’s work exists between dream and reality, where distorted forms, shadowed figures, and storm-like landscapes reflect themes of loneliness, displacement, mortality, and resilience.

“Art is a dream lived with eyes wide open.” — Frank Chinea Inguanzo

In the digital age, artists are constantly surrounded by other people’s finished work, milestones, recognition, and progress. What begins as inspiration can sometimes turn into comparison, quietly affecting confidence, momentum, and creative direction.

Comparison and the Quiet Erosion of Creativity reflects on the difference between inspiration and self-judgment, the pressure of artistic timelines, and the importance of returning attention to one’s own practice.

Artist Spotlight Series | Meet Lisa, founder of LGL Galleries | Part III

For Lisa, art became something deeper when she learned to let go of perfection and create without limits. What began as experimentation and instinct soon evolved into a body of work that connected with people around the world.

After a friend shared her work online, Lisa received an invitation to New York, a moment that opened the door to exhibiting internationally and sharing her art on a global stage.

For Lisa, painting is a space to release emotion, trust intuition, and create freely without knowing exactly what will appear on the canvas.

Through that process, her work has formed meaningful connections with people in deeply personal ways.

What continues to inspire her most is seeing the different meanings viewers find within each piece, moments of connection that make the creative journey so rewarding. 🤍
