Meet textile artist in residence, Camille Richart, at Colaisde na Gàidhlig / The Gaelic College during Unama'ki Cape Breton Craft Week 🧶✨
Coming from Montréal, Camille Richart’s work uses the medium of textiles as a vessel to interrogate our relationship with the environment. Camille has been integrating plastic waste into weaving, her preferred medium, where pattern and material reveal themselves thread by thread. Camille’s work is part of a conscious and committed approach aimed at repurposing materials.
Throughout the week, visitors are invited into the weaving studio to see Camille’s textile practice unfold in real time exploring weaving, fibre traditions, slow making, and the connections between craft, culture, and community.
