Learn more about Carola in her own words:
"My name is Carola Sánchez, I am a self taught jeweller, originally from a little town enclaved in the Andes mountains of Chile.

My work consists in crocheting jewelry using recycled precious metals, trying to evolve the textile knowledge that I had, and applying those techniques into metal.

I began this journey after realizing how empty I felt after I left everything behind in my country, so I had the urge to not lose myself too. I am an artisan and I always will be no matter where I am.

I want to make pieces that show the beauty of simplicity, and assuring that I am creating something for you to treasure without hurting our environment."

Meet our incredible community members who will be activating the space with some exciting programming during the Barns Eco Market - bringing you a sound bath and a free clay workshop on the weekend

Spectrum Soundbath - Sonic Activation on May 24, 10AM - 4PM

is a collaborative soundbath practice facilitated by Marilyn Yogarajah that often takes place monthly at various spaces across the city. Various percussive instruments are available for community members to play and take part and play. Participants are encouraged to also rest on a bed of sound until they hear a sound and then look to an instrument to make that sound! They will be set up on the elevated stage in Christie Courtyard.

Clay Workshop - led by Francesca Conforti on May 24, 10AM - 2PM

is a Toronto-based ceramic artist creating intuitive, handbuilt pieces that explore form, texture, and the relationship between function and sculpture. Her practice is rooted in slow making, inviting both play and intention through clay. Alongside her studio work, she facilitates small-group workshops that encourage people to reconnect with their creativity in an approachable and tactile way. This free clay handbuilding workshop will be happening in the Christie Courtyard. Spots are limited, please register via the Eventbrite link in bio!
