We are pleased to welcome a new collection of works by Zimbabwean master sculptor Tafadzwa Tandi and his son Kuda Tandi.

Coming from the renowned Tandi family of sculptors, Tafadzwa Tandi is celebrated for his exceptionally detailed carvings in semi-precious stone, with works ranging from expressive portraiture to striking wildlife sculptures. His mastery of hard materials such as dolomite, verdite, and lepidolite has earned him international recognition among collectors of Zimbabwean stone sculpture.

This newest collection also introduces more work by Tafadzwa’s son, Kuda Tandi, whose emerging creativity reflects the same remarkable attention to form, movement, and character that has defined generations of the Tandi family tradition.
Kuda’s newest sculptures showcase his mastery of both form and material, transforming challenging stones into works of remarkable presence and fluidity. Carefully selected for their dramatic veining, density, and natural character, these stones are among the most difficult to carve — requiring immense precision, patience, and technical skill. Each sculpture reveals the artist’s deep connection to the material, allowing the natural beauty of the stone to become an essential part of the finished work.

Featured in the collection are beautifully carved wildlife studies in richly coloured stone, alongside both large and small contemporary sculpture and paintings now on display in the gallery.

Happy Mother’s Day!

This Mother’s day, celebrate the Mother figures in our lives with timeless stone sculpture or flowers that will never fade from our local artists!

The “Mother and Child” motif often features figures intertwined or emerging from a single stone, symbolising unity and the inseparable bond between generations. Artists intentionally leave parts of the stone raw while polishing others, highlighting the natural beauty of the material while emphasising the harmony between humanity and the earth.

We invite you to discover something truly special—hand carved stone sculpture from Zimbabwe that beautifully capture the enduring bond between mothers and their children. Visit the gallery today to explore these exquisite works and a diverse selection of additional pieces on display!

Featuring three paintings by Ted Seeberg, this presentation explores the shifting landscapes through layered color and fractured form. Each work distills the experience of place into atmosphere, where forests, clearings, and distant horizons emerge as both observed terrain and remembered sensation. Together, the paintings trace a quiet dialogue between structure and spontaneity.

All available works can be viewed on our website (ukama.ca) or experienced in person at the gallery.
