A mid-week mission for the Volvo Gemini 4679 - can't say more at the moment, but thanks very much to Cameron, Dave and Jake for all their efforts at the museum, and to Justine for driving us on what will be great publicity for us in the future. We appreciate them all giving up their valuable time, as did all the guests.

A few days ago, we acquired a great collection of material relating to the much-loved Harper Bros of Heath Hayes. Striking items are the name plates from the rear of a half-cab coach, but of special interest are the excursion tickets for trips departing from Aldridge, and the full set of Fare Tables issued to coincide with the new fares that started on 15th February 1971 - Decimalisation Day.

The Workshop Manual and Parts list for BDJ807, one of the former St. Helens RT buses, now preserved in the Zero2 Bus Museum in Essex, offer an interesting aspect of this unique operator.

In due course, these will join a revised Harpers display but they are not yet on show to the public. This was a purchased collection - any contributions will be very welcome!

More to come from the Brum Transport Festival later, but today we welcomed visitors to the Museum as part of Heritage Open Days, with a couple of gentle runs in Metrobus 8110. Hall 2 was a little crowded after the return of the Austin Loadstar tanked from Brum - we hope everyone could get around.

We loved it when Kiki Chen decided to demonstrate the use of the water bowser on the Austin at Brum Transport Festival.

It was great how many visitors were really interested in how the tanker was used - is in the only Civil Defence water bowser in preservation.

A couple more from today at Brum Transport Festival. Thanks to the organisers for putting our logo (and that of our friends at Transport Museum Wythall) prominently on the backdrop to the stage events - it is good to get commercial transport museums in the public eye, who often think of cars in the museum sector.

Here we are at the Brum Transport Festival - only the Austin Loadstar tanker made it in the end, but is already attracting attention! Come and see us, and lots of brilliant classic vehicles on display.
