Workers demolish Bingley Hall, June 1984. Opening on Broad Street in 1850, it would be the UK's first purpose-built exhibition hall and used for many different events over the years. It also became known as an important music venue, hosting gigs by Marvin Gaye, Madness and The Jam, amongst many others.
