🏫 "Inclusion isn't a programme – it's simply the way the school operates."

That's the remarkable praise given to Ashton Park School and Sixth Form in South Bristol, which has received TWO prestigious recognitions for its commitment to helping every young person succeed! Ashton Park School (Official) 👏

The school has achieved the Inclusion Quality Mark Inclusive School Award and been named a Centre of Excellence, with assessors praising its family atmosphere, specialist support, enrichment opportunities and strong relationships with parents and students.

Headteacher Richard Uffendell says the achievement reflects two years of hard work across the whole school community.

🎂 70 YEARS OF GORDANO SCHOOL – AND WHAT A WAY TO CELEBRATE!

Students at Gordano School in Portishead have been getting creative in the kitchen, launching the school's 70th birthday celebrations with a spectacular interhouse cake Bake Off!

🍰 Amazing anniversary cake creations

🏆 Prizes and plenty of House rivalry

🎉 A whole year of special celebrations ahead

And there's much more to come, including a journey through seven decades of school dinners and a special Creative Arts Festival in summer 2027.

The school is also asking former pupils and staff to share their memories from the past 70 years.

🚨 £11.5 MILLION is being invested to help young people in Bristol train for their futures!

A major new funding boost will help create more opportunities for young people to gain practical skills, access training and prepare for careers – particularly in construction, where skilled workers are urgently needed.

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is investing £11.5 million over the next three years to improve training facilities and help people develop the skills employers are looking for.

🚗⚡ GREAT SCOTT! WHAT A SHOW!

We've seen some fantastic productions at Bristol Hippodrome, but Back To The Future The Musical has to be one of the very best!

From the moment Marty McFly appeared on stage, the audience was cheering, laughing and applauding. Axel Duffy is wonderful as Marty, Roger Bart is absolutely superb as Doc Brown, and the special effects – including that famous flying DeLorean – are breathtaking.

This is family theatre at its very best. Quite simply, a spectacular triumph!

✈️👶 Left-behind prams at Bristol Airport are getting a second life – and helping local families!

A fantastic new partnership between Bristol Airport and Baby Bank Network Bristol is turning unclaimed prams and pushchairs into much-needed support for families facing poverty or crisis.

Already, 48 prams worth an estimated £4,880 have been collected, ready to find new homes with families across Bristol.

💚 It's a brilliant way to reduce waste while making a real difference to parents and young children.

sparksbristol is celebrating International Repair Day on Saturday 17 October with a day of hands-on activities, demonstrations and workshops for adults and children.

🎉 Filton Avenue Primary School is celebrating a successful Ofsted inspection, with its provision for personal development and wellbeing rated Exceptional.

Inspectors praised the North Bristol school’s inclusive culture, pastoral support and ambitious curriculum, while highlighting the transformational impact of its work on pupils’ speaking and listening skills.

Pupils were described as arriving at school ‘brimming with enthusiasm for the day ahead’.
