Felixstowe Museum Welcome to Felixstowe Museum's page. The dog friendly museum. We have a shop, tearoom and are dog friendly. We look forward to welcoming you!

The social and military history of this popular Suffolk seaside resort displayed in 14 rooms of the former submarine mining establishment at Landguard Point 'twixt Fort and Port. Our museum houses 14 rooms of artefacts, exhibitions and information which displays the social and military history of this popular seaside resort. Even the building is of historical interest as it was once a submarine mi

ning establishment. Felixstowe Museum is managed by our team of friendly, dynamic volunteers who are always happy to help. Their expertise is second to none and is always delivered with enthusiasm and a passion for history. Our collections are regularly updated and there are new exhibitions each season to enjoy. Exhibitions will be previewed on our website, so check back regularly for updates on what's new. We are located at Landguard Point, adjacent to the Harbour Viewing Area where there is ample parking (only £1.50 for 2 hours). The scheduled hourly Number 77 bus service from Ipswich via Felixstowe to Landguard will deliver you to our gates. You can also reach us by the foot ferry from Harwich and Shotley.

As it's Volunteers Week this week, let me introduce you to Sylvia.

"You'll usually find me in the turntable area at the museum. I love it here because I can chat to families about the mines, and then point out my favourite items in the Beside the Seaside exhibition. People are fascinating when you get talking to them!"

Join Sylvia and others at the museum it’s a great way to meet new people and help your local museum.

These pieces of art are by Evie White, and are a perfect complement to both our seaside and port rooms.

Have a look if you're in the museum over the next few days. Doors open at 11am, with last entry at 4pm.
