Getting prepared for our SUMMER SHOW at 108 Fine Art. Featuring a stunning collection of paintings by Joash Woodrow - vivid, expressive works filled with colour, memory, and atmosphere.

Here is one of his paintings, the beautiful red house sits quietly among sweeping purple meadows, a dreamlike glimpse into Woodrow’s vision of Leeds. Rich in texture and emotion, his landscapes capture both the poetry of everyday places and the magic hidden within them.

We can’t wait to share more from this special summer exhibition

108 Fine Art is pleased to present a two-week pop-up of paintings by artist Angel Cook, a young contemporary artist from Yorkshire.

Working primarily in portraiture, Cook’s paintings focus closely on the human face, creating a sense of immediacy and quiet intensity. Through a careful handling of light and shadow, her compositions create an intimate encounter with the subject. Angel Cook’s paintings centres on those closest to her, offering portraits that feel both personal and reflective.

we continue to introduce and support artists at key moments in their careers. Over the years, this has included early exhibitions with painters such as Paul Reid, Yukako Sakakura and Anna King, whose practices have since developed internationally.

Angel Cook’s paintings will be on view for a limited time at the gallery. For those interested in the work, further information and availability can be provided on request.

Location: 108 Fine Art Gallery, Harrogate, North Yorkshire

Gallery Hours: Open 11am – 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Walk-ins welcome or by appointment.

All works will be available for purchase. For the price list and any enquiries, please contact the gallery at [email protected].

Happy International Women’s Day from Gillian, Scarlett and India at

Today feels especially meaningful for us as a family-run gallery led by three women. Supporting artists has grown into something we are so proud to build together every day.

We feel so lucky to celebrate the support and inspiration women bring into each and every one of our lives - in families, friendships and businesses. Being able to create something side by side as women and family is something we are truly grateful for.

Here’s to lifting each other up, dreaming big, and building beautiful things together.

Whilst admiring the beautiful portrait ‘Blue Lady’ we realised that after all this time, we had never noticed the tiny heart at the tip of her nose!

Do you think it was intentional or perhaps a subtle Valentine’s hint, perfectly timed for today’s post? ❤️

And guess what… while scouring the archive collection of works by Joash Woodrow, we discovered another hidden heart on a different portrait the very same day!

Sometimes the smallest details hold the sweetest surprises!

A beautiful new colourway for the hallway of one of Joash Woodrow’s customers. This stunning colour works so well with the painting and really elevates the space.

Thank you to the for the latest article last weekend. It is great to see some of our favourite works from our latest exhibition ‘The Sensation of Image’.

Geoff, a painter and printmaker, explored perception, memory, and personal experience through daily drawing and experimentation in print and painting. Jenny, a ceramicist, works primarily in fine porcelain, creating both sculptural and functional pieces. Her practice is inspired by geology and the passage of time, using hand-built and thrown forms to evoke natural processes and human presence.

This exhibition marks the first time Geoff and Jenny Morten have shown their work together at . Curated side by side, their work reflects shared experiences, while also highlighting the distinct directions each practice has taken.
