More work has been underway on our Buccaneer XN923. As part of the full overhaul, the aesthetics are first on the list with a mainly back to bare metal paint strip and preparation for new paint in its Boscombe Down development all white scheme.

The majority of the nose section has now been stripped of its six layers of paint which has revealed several previous schemes including the 'Day-Glo' orange Boscombe Down trials scheme that 923 still wears today.

Progress is steady - but not fast as stripping back to bare metal is time consuming, careful work. So far, the metal is in excellent condition so we should get a very nice end result.

Don't forget we're open Thursday through to Sunday this week and our viewing area is also open!

A 5 min walk across our event field, it's one of the closest spots to the runway you'll find to sit and watch the activity at Gatwick.

It's hard to believe it's been a year since our Devon arrived from Cosford.

VP952 is particularly important to preserve being the first production Devon - and the last to be retired from the RAF.

This particular aircraft's last assignment was with RAF 207 Squadron and was retired from service in 1984.

Now on display in our main hangar and in remarkably good condition, our Devon is now well and truly at home as part of our wonderful collection.

Don't forget we're open on Thursdays during August from 10-5.

We were delighted to host a Summer Party with a difference for the team at Horley based company, Flight Directors.

Along with the opportunity to have a look around the aircraft and try out the Typhoon motion simulator experience, everyone had the chance to take a tank ride too before enjoying something to eat and drink outside - on what was a gloriously sunny evening.

If you're looking for a corporate event venue or somewhere just a little bit different to hold your work do, get in touch with us at [email protected]
