If art is so deeply human, and for everyone, then why is the language around it so byzantine? I guess I hope the 3 N’s might somehow became a gateway for helping people feel more comfortable talking about art.

They’re simple, a 5 year old can learn them.
They’re subjective, no wrong answers.
They’re systematic, respecting art history.

What do you think? A load of toss..?... or quite useful? Let me know.

It seems like colour psychology is a social construct we assume to be true,.. and besides, what difference does it make..? But when we look at the history of these sort of connections and metaphors, they’re not innocent.

Of course, we can extend that metaphor beyond the algorithm, to the flag of our personal identity. As we can all get blinded by our habits of mind to keep us from seeing the ego at the heart of blindness. Should I make a video on that? Let me know. Part 6. Here’s my bet. The burgeoning science of neuroaesthetics is going to prove this old hippy right. The movie is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and the artists’ work depicted, other than Hunt Slonem, includes Titian, Jan Sanders van Hemessen, Ridolfo Ghirlandaio, Vincent Van Gogh, Kiki Smith, Jan Mankes, and unknown.

I started down this little rabbit hole after watching the YouTube video by Johnny Harris, How Money Laundering Actually Works. Not content with trusting his research I did some of my own, including reading the Financial Action Task Force report on money laundering in the art world. Both are worth exploring yourself - Johnny’s video is great at explaining ‘flying money’.
