CVAN London and Burgh House are delighted to invite CVAN London member artists to a special in-person Creative Learning Hub and networking event.

Join us for a morning of conversation, connection, and exchange with Burgh House's newly appointed Director, Moira Lascelles. Moira will introduce Burgh House and share her vision for the future of this historic house, museum, and cultural venue, drawing on her background in social practice and community engagement.

The morning will also include a tour of Burgh House and its current exhibitions led by Curator Amy Miller, followed by a group discussion exploring how contemporary artistic practice and community engagement can help shape cultural programmes, create meaningful connections, and engage new audiences.

This event offers a chance to:
- Meet and connect with fellow artists and creatives
- Explore Burgh House and its exhibitions
- Contribute ideas and perspectives on cultural programming and community engagement
- Join conversations about the role artists can play in shaping inclusive cultural spaces

This gathering offers a unique opportunity to come together within a welcoming cultural setting, exchange ideas, and build new connections across London’s creative community.

Family Workshop: Creating Paper Landscapes ✨

Join us for a creative children's workshop inspired by our current exhibition Donald Towner: Amongst the Trees and Terraces. In this hands-on session, you will explore paper landscape making, using layered materials to build beautiful images inspired by Towner's paintings. You’ll then have the opportunity to add delicate embroidered details to your artwork. Perfect for children from age five and up, join us for a fun and creative morning at Burgh House!

Max 15 children, and must be accompanied by Parent.

Ticket is for one parent and one child, additional children, please add-on. If you are no longer able to attend, please do inform us so we can make sure your ticket is used.

Ticket price includes materials.

Burgh House presents Sunday Sounds, our recital series showcasing emerging musicians 🎶

Join international prize-winning violinist Peihan Francesca He next Sunday at Burgh House for a recital of works by Bach, Beethoven, Spohr, and Ravel's much-loved 'Tzigane'.

We recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid disappointment, although purchasing on the door is also possible if there are tickets left.

Free Curator Lunchtime Talk: Hampstead Vanished and Imagined ✨

Join Curator Amy Miller for a free talk exploring our 2026 exhibition showcasing Burgh House’s permanent collections. We will look at the story of Hampstead over time: of landscapes and buildings altered or no longer present. Whilst Hampstead expanded with the growth of the railways, the damage of the Second World War (1939-1945) irrevocably altered streets and local landmarks. We will consider how these changes transformed Hampstead.

Thank you to The Guardian for this review of our new Constable in Hampstead exhibition! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

"This small show at Hampstead’s Burgh House offers something like an olive branch to Constable haters. The main works on display are three mezzotint prints done with such delicacy that the black ink becomes translucent in sections where it is used to depict clouds, and an oil study for his painting Hampstead Heath With a Rainbow."

The exhibition explores John Constable's deep connection to Hampstead, where he created some of his most celebrated works and found inspiration in the landscape around him.

New Exhibition Now Open: Constable in Hampstead 🎨

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of iconic Suffolk-born artist John Constable, Burgh House is delighted to present John Constable in Hampstead, a new exhibition exploring the artist’s profound connection to Hampstead Heath and the surrounding area where he lived and worked for almost twenty years.

Open from today (11 June 2026), the anniversary of Constable’s birth, John Constable in Hampstead brings together key works from the artist’s Hampstead years, revealing how the area became both a creative inspiration and a refuge from London life. Through rarely seen paintings, mezzotints, portraits, and personal letters, this exhibition traces Constable’s deep engagement with the landscape, weather, and people of Hampstead during a pivotal and deeply personal period in his life.
