Arthur Conan Doyle’s mindset was surprisingly restless.
Even at the height of Sherlock Holmes’ fame, he felt the great detective was holding him back from the “better things” he wanted to write.

In a letter to his mother, Doyle admitted he was thinking of “slaying Holmes” so he could free his mind for more serious work. Success, to him, wasn’t something to sit in, it was something to push beyond. ✍️✨

Born on 22nd May 1859, Doyle introduced the world to the legendary detective of Baker Street and forever changed the landscape of mystery storytelling.

Although he sadly passed away on 7th July 1930, his imagination, characters, and unforgettable adventures continue to captivate readers across the globe to this very day. 🕰️✨
