Cadogan Gallery is an independent, family-run art gallery based in South Kensington, London. Founded by Christopher Burness in 1980, the gallery has worked closely with generations of collectors and established and critically acclaimed artists for forty years. After a few years in Pont Street, the gallery moved close to Draycott Avenue, SW3, where it remained for 20 years gaining prominence, royal

patronage and developing its catalogue of artists. In 2007 Cadogan Contemporary moved to the Old Brompton Road in South Kensington. Since joining in 2014, Freddie Burness has built on the heritage and strong foundations of the gallery, adding a new international perspective to its distinctive program. With an artist focussed approach and a clear aesthetic identity, the gallery represents both long established artists that have evolved with us since the gallery's founding, as well as a new generation of emerging artists. Our regular programme of exhibitions in London is complemented by the recent launch of a new temporary exhibition space in Hampshire in 2021. This has provided an opportunity to pursue curate large-scale projects and installations.

Richard Zinon’s second act of his exhibition is now open in our Milan gallery. Act two of ‘Penombra’ expands the language of his practice through a broader range of gestural interplays. Subtle tonal variations give way to a stronger emphasis on the mark itself and on the distinct character each gesture brings across the field of view. Each work occupies the space in its own way, inviting the viewer to engage with the compositions and their individual presence.

Together, these works reveal a shift in rhythm and intensity within the artist’s practice.
