The Muse at 269 - Gallery / Studio Gallery / Studio / Graduate residency program We also have a limited number of opportunities for gallery hire within our calendar.

The Muse gallery was established in 2003, in order to support emerging artists by combining creative and commercial elements under one roof. We inherited the building from the creators of 'Green & Blacks' to convert the town house into a mayhem of cultural, creative and commercial activities. We offer exhibition space for contemporary artists, whether established or emerging, accepted purely by merit of work. Throughout the year community arts projects, musicians, film makers and live performers are invited to submit proposals for workshops and events at No. 269, Portobello Road and collaborate with our modest team of artists to present to London.

Margarita Frančeska Loze Margarita Frančeska Ieva Loze at Sculpture Now!

Margarita Frančeska Loze is a visual artist who works with expanded textile, using thread as a painterly medium to create meticulous, large-scale hand embroidery in wax and cotton thread. Her work gathers fragments from nature, underwater organisms and landscapes, exploring how they assemble into a larger whole.

Sculpture Now - opening tonight!

Tonight we open Sculpture Now at XYZ Bolsover, bringing together Catriona Robertson, Joe Rush, Adam Zoltowski, Margarita Franceska Loze and Nicholas Cheeseman.
The evening will also feature a live performance by Anton Mirto Silver Anton Foil DIS-ARMA-MI – A Part of You. Mirto invites audiences to transform a wearable sculpture exploring protection, vulnerability and trust. Audiences are invited to dissolve the soap gauntlet using a sponge or their bare hands.

Hockney Paint Jam Dalia Zermon — part of Sculpture Now
As part of Sculpture Now, Hockney Paint Jam takes over the XYZ basement from 15–18 October.
Curated by artist and curator Dalia Zermon, Paint Jam is an immersive art installation and series of workshops celebrating David Hockney, with art exhibitions, documentaries, photo installations and painting workshops. Total beginners are welcome.
