The Technology Station The Technology Station celebrates the extraordinary technology from Malvern. Visitors say “Well I never knew that!” Come and be surprised.

Regular opening times are Wednesdays 1 -5pm and Saturdays 10-1pm. Group bookings still possible at other times. The Malvern Radar And Technology History Society (MRATHS) - "celebrate Malvern’s extraordinary scientific heritage".

Today we hosted Stephen (on the left) whose father served in a Lancaster as an 'Air Bomber' in 1945. His aircraft was shot down but he survived the war. We showed Stephen parts from the radar and the bombing aids and discussed what was involved in his role. The bombing computor (correct spelling in 1945) is shown the foreground.

Some sad news and not so sad news. Cyril Hilsum, with purple tie, was the team leader of the group that made LCD flat screens possible. He passed away last month aged 101.
You can see him, in our recent display, presenting a present to HM Queen Elizabeth when she visited RSRE 50 years ago this year (1976).
Come and visit before we close for the winter at the end of October.

This week is Heritage open days nationally and in Malvern our contribution in The Technology Station is a panel on HRH Queen Elizabeth's visit to RSRE 50 years ago. We welcomed Don Hurle's two daughters and their families last Saturday. Don spoke to HRH Queen Elizabeth when she visited Malvern 50 years ago. Don studied crystal growth and the technique allowed Malvern' RSRE to present some specially grown jewels to the Queen.

Today we want to thank Riversides School, Worcester for bringing over seven of their students to The Technology Station.
They did some experiments with magnetism and electricity and a heat camera. Thank you to Platform charity for arranging the visit.
Here is a picture of the students. NO they haven't been naughty - there wasn't time to get permission from their guardians and we wanted to say thank you for coming by!
