Mylor Local History Group Cornwall

Mylor Local History Group Cornwall Mylor Local History Group welcomes anyone with an interest in Mylor and the surrounding area.

Under the leadership of Joan West the Mylor Local History Group was formed after a number of local residents attended a series of local-history classes in the village run by the WEA – Workers’ Educational Association. They researched Mylor’s past and, over the years, accumulated a wealth of written material, together with tape recordings of village reminiscences. These were brought together along

with a cornucopia of previously unpublished illustrations lent by villagers past and present in The Book of Mylor.

Mylor Local History Group are holding their AGM on Thursday 23rd April in the Tremayne Hall at 2pm. All are welcome. After giving their time over 10 years it is time for some volunteer committee members to retire, and so we have positions for Treasurer, Secretary and 3 more committee members. Without support this group will no longer function, which would be a great shame as we reach far and wide throughout the world. We meet every Thursday afternoon from 2pm to 4.30pm with afternoon tea biscuits, and sometimes cake. We have short committee meetings 3 or 4 times a year. Do not feel you have to attend every Thursday as we all have days when there are other things happening that we need to attend to. We are a happy band of volunteers and very much hope that you will join us.
