Hello 👋

It's been a while since we've introduced ourselves, we're Mandy and Charlie, the mother + daughter team that runs Milestone Studios!

👩‍🎨 Mandy is a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for colour. Mandy works with acrylics, inks, resin, and collage to create abstract artworks. Mandy is also the studio manager. She handles everything from event bookings and shop stock to studio hire, and more!

👩‍🎨 Charlie is an artist, creative producer, and researcher. Her visual work is often realised through printmaking and goauche. Charlie is our in-house curator. She manages our exhibitions and our online channels (like Instagram and our website) and facilitates printmaking courses at the studio.

We opened Milestone Studios together in 2022 and have built an incredible community of creatives under this roof over the past 4 years. And yet we still have people coming in for the first time, telling us they didn't know we were here! So if you'd like to find out more about Milestone, our team, facilities, or programme, why not pop-in for a visit?

We're open today for the final day of 💚

Here's a selection of work on display!

It's lovely and cool in the studio, escape the heat, and come and browse some original art for the day. Our courtyard neighbours and are also open today, so if you visit us, make sure to pop in and see their studios as well.

It's weekend and we are open today, tomorrow and Monday!! 🎉

If you're doing the trail, we're venue 1A on the map in New Mills. Our neighbours are also open with artist showing her work.

You can visit us any time between 10am and 4pm each day to see work by 25+ local artists and makers, including all of our studio members.

OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS 🏳️‍🌈

LGBTQIA+ artists and makers are invited to submit work to Choose Love & Unity, an exhibition at Milestone Studios and Gallery taking place alongside 2026.

Artwork will be selected via open call by the Milestone Studios team in collaboration with New Mills Pride for a three week exhibition in our ground floor gallery in June 2026.

Artists are encouraged to submit work that responds to the following themes: Identity and self definition; visibility vs invisibility; love, intimacy and desire; body and embodiment; resistance and activism; history, memory and archival work; intersectionality.

Today is your last chance to see our current exhibition, 'No Longer What I(t) Was', a solo show of work by

Rachel's exhibition features a series of original acrylic paintings. No Longer What I(t) Was. Rachel's work explores her experience with chronic migraine.

"Living with chronic migraine, I feel a deep connection to things that are ‘broken’. On my journey, I've found myself re‑evaluating my purpose and place in the world. I've often felt lost.

I paint dilapidated buildings as I relate to them. These buildings can no longer serve their original purpose but still have a strong, enchanting presence about them. They've found a new purpose by giving nature life. We've both had to evolve into something new.

My acrylic paintings focus on the theme of broken but beautiful, experiences or places that bring me joy and my journey with chronic illness.”

No Longer What I(t) Was, a solo exhibition by

TONIGHT: Collage Club, 7-9pm
£10 per person
Collage club is a relaxed, social evening of cut and stick, offering a playful space to get started with collage. Each month, we have a theme or creative exercise to offer inspiration. Everyone welcome, no experience necessary! All materials are provided, and refreshments are included.

Printmaking Taster: Experimental Monoprint
Saturday 30th May 10:00am - 12:30pm
£40per person, £60 for two when booked together.
During this 2.5 hour workshop you will explore various monoprint techniques, with support from printmaker Charlie Collins. Charlie will demonstrate additive, reductive and trace monoprinting, and guide you through creating your own prints using each technique. You will learn how to use our A2 Gunning Etching Press during the session.

Choose Love and Unity - Open Call

This open call invites LGBTQIA+ artists and makers to submit work to Choose Love & Unity, an exhibition at Milestone Studios and Gallery taking place alongside 2026.


Milestone Studios and Gallery will be open from Saturday the 23rd of May to Monday the 25th May for The High Peak Open Studios! High Peak Open Studios is a free weekend event where artists and makers across the Peak District open their studio doors to the public. There are over 100 artists exhibiting across 36 different venues.
