Derbyshire Open Arts may be taking a fallow year, but 🎨 High Peak Open Studios is keeping the creativity flowing — and we’re delighted to be part of it at RWA Gallery.

This Bank Holiday weekend, discover 102 artists across 36 venues throughout the High Peak, including 25 artists across 7 venues in Whaley Bridge alone.

I’m excited to unveil a brand new collection of Paris paintings inspired by an autumn trip - capturing warm light, riverside reflections and vibrant city scenes - alongside new limited edition prints (just 10 of each available).

Southwark Bridge has found its new home ✨

This unique painting, created with glow-in-the-dark pigment, was inspired by the Illuminated River lighting displays installed on London’s bridges back in 2019.

Delighted it’s gone to someone who connected with it. 😊

A new collection of paintings by artist Rob Wilson is coming to the RWA Gallery this May as part of the Whaley Bridge Open Studios 2026.

Inspired by the atmosphere, architecture, reflections and hidden moments of Paris, this collection captures the energy and romance of the city through layered textures, colour and movement.

I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to have been invited to take part in a live Art Battle at the Greater Manchester Creative Industries Exchange this Thursday (30 April), held at New Century Hall.

Art battles are really enjoyable competitions where several artists are pitted against each other and the clock, resulting in an energetic and sometimes unpredictable 45 minutes of painting! The theme is Manchester, so I’ll be creating an interpretation of my recent piece, ‘Golden Hour, Castlefield’. Of course, this painting took me days to finish, so I’m interested to see what I can produce in 45 minutes!

When: 12:30pm – 1:15pm
Where: Food Hall, New Century Hall, Manchester.
wider event runs from 10am–8pm, with a full programme of talks, workshops, live performances, and networking with creatives from across Greater Manchester. All artworks will go to a live auction later in the afternoon, with proceeds split between the artists and a chosen charity. I’ll be supporting the Thomas Theyer Foundation.

Started this piece yesterday during my demo with Poynton Art Society 🎨

Inspired by the Ty Coch Inn and its ever-changing light.

Still plenty to do, but I’m enjoying where it’s heading. 😊

Excited to share - the short film ‘Pig in a Ginnel’ will be screened as part of Buxton Shorts 2025 – a celebration of local filmmaking!

The film features our son Howie as ‘Will’– a dyslexic student trying to find his way through the education system. Once he was cast, the whole Wilson family somehow managed to get involved… check out the credits!
