We’re back with a beautiful 1908 German Prince Schaumburg-Lippe Silver Cigarette Case !
About its story …
This fine German enamelled silver cigarette case was presented to His Serene Highness Prince Frederick of Schaumburg-Lippe in Winter 1908 by Ditmar Finkler of Bonn.
A commissioned piece by Friedrich Van Hauten, it combines a cigarette case, match compartment with striker, and pencil holder (pencil now missing). The dedication and armorial engraving sit beneath the red enamel — a mark of its bespoke nature. The interior remains richly gilded, with only light age-related wear to the enamel.
An elegant object carrying genuine aristocratic provenance and early 20th-century European history.
