Our team have not been able to reconvene at the museum yet, after the fire last year which damaged parts of the building.

Hopefully, they can return soon and work will recommence on the restoration of Wickham Type 27 Mk III - Works No. 8196 - see https://flic.kr/s/aHsmRNMuKd

Work is focussed on preparing the new chassis to have parts etc. transferred from the old chassis and also reinstating dual pedal controls.

We also have a BSA 420cc engine, which needs to be overhauled for our Wickham Type 1A Trolley - Works No. 6952 - see https://flic.kr/s/aHsm1vuCJT. This is next in the restoration queue.

One of our team is currently working on finding either (a) a company who can overhaul / repair / restore the original gauges (b) a source of suitable replacement gauges etc. for our Wickham Type 27 Trolleys.

In the meanwhile, some of the team will be meeting up to review all of the Trust's drawings (mainly Wickham of Ware) in order to collate a full list of all drawings, parts list etc. that we hold, so that a plan can then be put in place to make these available for other owners / restorers etc.

If you would like to get involved with the restoration work at Keighley, please get in contact.

We also aim to start volunteering working parties Tanat Valley Light Railway this year.

Our work here will be wide & varied, as we are very much at the start of our activities here, despite having many of our Trolleys and other items from our collection here.

Initially we need to sort through everything we have on site (Trolleys, Trailers, Spares, Pumps, Hoists, other equipment etc.) and produce a full inventory.

We need to review our current storage facilities on site (a 20ft container, a lorry back & a railway van) and put together a plan of work to ensure they are weather proof and secure for the long term.

We need to install racking and other storage, so that spares etc. can be organised, stored and clearly labelled. We also need to install some work benches and tool stowage etc.

We hope to be able to provide dry storage for the older Trolleys on site. Wickham Type 17 Works No. 590 (https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjB2v4D) and Sylvester Trolley (https://flic.kr/s/aHskyrFsUv).

With regards to the Trolleys, we are keen to complete the restoration of Wickham Type 17 - Works No. 590 and also service and repaint our Robel Trolley (https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAsJUf). We are also keen to produce a replacement for the missing rear upright section for the deck on this trolley.

Hopefully, you can tell there is a lot of work to be done here and as such we really needs as many volunteers as possible to get involved. Please get in contact, if you are interested.

I thought it was time to provide some updates on our activities & plans.

We aim to restart volunteer working parties Chasewater Railway this year.

We are focussed on trying to return Wickham Type 17 - Works No. 497 (https://www.flickr.com/gp/therailtrolleytrust/65R436t22g) to working order.

We are trying to understand the issues we are having with the J*P V Twin engine. We have been researching the history of its restoration & are seeking some expert & knowledgeable advice to hopefully enable us to get it starting & running reliably.

We also want to complete the restoration of Wickham Type 4B - Works No. 6872 (https://flic.kr/p/2nbA1Hg).

Again, we need to resolve issues with the engine (J*P 600 Mk III Vertical) of this Trolley. Also the Trolley needs to have its painting completed in the correct colours & then its decals, running numbers etc. applied. We also have the track gauges to be fitted on the back of the Trolley.

If you are interested in volunteering @ being involved, please get in contact.
