Komorebi Station

Oil on Canvas

The summer sun and independence. A day trip to London last summer.
Like komorebi, sunlight passing through leaves, the light here is transient and partial, revealing itself gradually. Within the language of stations and transitions, this moment marks a quiet but decisive change. My daughter sits alone on the train, taking her first steps towards independence. This is a companion painting to Transitions and Train Stations.
My latest work is focused on the assertion of independence that steadily increases as my kids get older. Also acknowledging the importance of it.

Christmas Cracker!

It’s been an interesting start to the year. Slow but steady. This self portrait is about the challenge of Christmas. Each cracker represents religion and politics. If you zoom in you will see that.
I’ve been doing a lot more drawing too. Some good, some terrible swipe to see for yourself. I made a little video.
Anyway I hope you are keeping your sanity in these increasingly crazy times. Peace over war every hour, of every day. My thoughts are with those who are suffering.

Absolute blinder of an exhibition
Beyond Your Eyes is a feast for your eyes.
I have witnessed first hand how Adis painting has matured and evolved. I’m blown away by it.
But don’t take my word for it. Go and see it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.own.catharsis_ was also there to support our fellow member.

I’ve been super quiet on all social media this year. Just popping things into my stories from time to time. I have been working away but haven’t felt driven to share.
It’s always tricky in January as the expectation is that it’s the start of new things. For me I’m still in hibernation. Feeling contemplative and reassessing what I want to do. Part of that is only posting here when I feel like it!
Four paintings in the Jackson’s Extended Longlist seems like a great reason. Really chuffed with that! It’s come at the perfect time. The Doubt Demon has been chasing my tail. So this is a boost. Also I haven’t actually shared my latest paintings with you yet! Here they are! Put a little process video in there.

A mini trip to see Paperthin
We thoroughly enjoyed this exhibition. Great to discover new artists to love.
Also to see some old friends.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get to the opening event but I hear it was a great success. Definitely worth a visit.

It’s been another mad one. But mostly a good one. This picture was taken from the place I had my ‘suspected heart attack’. It was reassuring to sit there yesterday feeling fine.
Hope you are where you want to be with who you want to be with. Wishing you all the best for now and what comes next!

Wake Up and Smell the Brushes

Thanks for all your well wishes and enquiries about my health. On Saturday I was taken to hospital with a suspected heart attack. It wasn’t thank goodness but that was a scary day for us all. I had lots of tests, ECGs etc. Discharged in the evening.
I’m on the mend and feel ok.

Going to be taking it steady for this week. So if I said I was going to do something and don’t you’ll know that I’m taking it easy.

Look after yourselves!

As an aside other than the paramedics, everyone who helped me through this were not white British and I was seen by several people. The NHS would cease to function if they weren’t there. I had fantastic care at Dorchester A&E.

It’s nice to get the gang back together. I’ve made the decision to have a reshuffle. Lets me see them in a different light. It’s lovely to be surrounded by the kids.
There’s a few still out there living their best lives.
School Daze at Unseen and The Great. Outdoors open

The eagle eyed will see that I’m working on a new painting. Slow and steady with this one. Biggest one this year.

Taking a break as it’s been a mental couple of months.
So if you don’t see me on here I’m just keeping myself to myself and refilling my cup!

Great opening event for ‘Unseen’ curated by the talented .millie
It’s my last exhibition of 2025. Lovely to be part of such a vibrant show. Lots of local talent.
Open to the public tomorrow. Free entry. Please go along and support this exhibition.
I didn’t do the obligatory stand by my painting picture so I opted for other people looking at my painting.
How nice to have it featured in the paper.
My kids all think they’re famous now!

Support local artists and venues. The more we support them the better the art scene will become.

We Rise finishes on Saturday do come and see it before it finishes.

Only one week left to see ‘We Rise’
What a wonderful experience it has been.
I have been genuinely moved by feedback.
Every single artist has been mentioned in the comments.
The work has resonated with a wide audience, both locally and further afield.
On Thursday I met Gemma the curator from
Really chuffed that she came to see our exhibition. Plans are afoot for 2027.
I felt that I had a ‘rite of passage’ as an artist this week. Having been the one to take students around art exhibitions and watching them draw their chosen works. I am honoured to have had the privilege of having my work drawn. Swipe to see.
