Wonderful visit from Thrumster Primary School pupils this morning. Very well behaved but showed a lot of interest in the museum exhibits and asked lots of questions. Thank you for visiting. If any other school/class would like a visit please get in touch.

One of the many display rooms in the museum. This is a Parlour which was often the best room in the house and only really used for special visitors. Why not come in and see it for yourself.

Great visit last evening from Thrumster WI members. If your local group/association would like a tour please get in touch. We will try and accommodate tours outwith our normal opening hours where possible.

One of our many displays is the classroom from a time when slates were the tablet of the day. You might spot the infamous belts on the teachers desk. The desks etc came from the school on Stroma.

Not visited the museum yet. Why not pop in and see our many displays including the original Noss lighthouse mechanism and lens which is one of very few anywhere still in good working order. Not bad for something installed in 1849 !

One of the many strange items in the museum to see. Brilliant for checking a child’s feet fit in a shoe. However the burst of radiation not maybe so good. This was used in a shoe shop in Wick back in the day.

Book sale starts tomorrow 10-30am. See you there !

Hope to see everyone at the book sale starting Thursday at 1030am. Huge amount of books including children’s books. Large number of jigsaws as well, all jigsaws priced at £2.
