Join us at the RHA this lunchtime for a conversation between artist and writer Adrian Duncan and curator Davey Moor, discussing the exhibition Buildings from a Novel, which consists primarily of a series of sculptures that were made while Adrian was writing his recently published novel A Thought Without Collision (Tuskar Rock Press).

These sculptures, which resemble fictional buildings imagined in the novel, belong to points in an imaginary terrain.

A major show of work by Academician Una Sealy, Time Lines: Selected Works 2016 – 2026; a solo exhibition by Irish-Trinidadian interdisciplinary artist, Maïa Nunes, Lake Burst; a selection of works by twenty-one artists exploring perception, memory, structure and image-making from different perspectives showing in Cnuasach curated by Sinéad Ní Mhaonaigh PRHA; alongside new works by Fionn McCann, Deconstructing a Mountain; and Adrian Duncan, Buildings from a Novel.

𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 - 𝗠𝗮ï𝗮 𝗡𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘀 – 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸

Join us this evening at the RHA for a screening of Maïa Nunes’ Lake Burst short film accompanied by a live performance of the original soundtrack by Maïa Nunes on vocals with Brendan Jenkinson on clarinet.

The screening will be followed by a conversation between Nunes and artist Alice Rekab. Bringing these two distinctive artists into conversation will reveal how their practices explore similar themes and resonate with each other, thus contextualising and offering deeper insight into Nunes’ exhibition and wider practice.

This short film, included in Nunes’ current Lake Burst exhibition at RHA, is part of a series of artworks responding to Lough Bré and exploring the geo-mythology of Irish lakes as sites of healing, symbols of death and rebirth, and portals to the Otherworld and subconscious realms.

Are you curious to know a bit more about the ins and outs and workings of the RHA?

Our First Day at the RHA tour this Saturday will bring you through the building as well as showing highlights of our current exhibitions, including Una Sealy’s Time Lines: Selected Works 2016 – 2026; Cnuasach curated by Sinéad Ní Mhaonaigh PRHA; Maïa Nunes’s Lake Burst; Fionn McCann’s Deconstructing a Mountain; and Adrian Duncan’s Buildings from a Novel.

This tour may be of particular interest to first-time visitors but is, of course, open to everybody and to all ages. The tour is free and there is no booking required.

First Day at the RHA

Accessibility Information: The building is wheelchair accessible and equipped with a ramp and lift. Portable stools are available for visitors.
