ARTIST RESIDENCY: Arianna Pace at Atelier de la Nature (Louisiana, USA)
As a research centre dedicated to the relationship between art and ecology, PAV Parco Arte Vivente supports young artistic creation by promoting international mobility projects. The residency of artist and researcher Arianna Pace (Shaunta Arianna Pace) at Atelier de la Nature (Atelier de la Nature) in Louisiana kicked off a few days ago! For about two weeks, Arianna will immerse herself in the reserve’s ecosystem, following its ecological restoration work, educational programs, and community practices. A field investigation into biodiversity and environmental memory, the results of which will come together in a project to be presented at PAV next year.
BIO
Arianna Pace (Pesaro, 1995) is a visual artist and landscape researcher. Her practice explores the perceptual processes of belonging to a landscape and the layers of terrestrial time, revealing valuable traces of life forms and transforming scientific study and the care of material memory into a shared form of inquiry. She has received prestigious national and international accolades, including First Prize at the XXIV Ermanno Casoli Award, the GNAM Award at the Talent Prize 2024 — which resulted in the acquisition of her artwork into the permanent collection of the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome — and the BigCi Environmental Award (Australia). Her recent projects include Sedimentaria (Gargano), Accidentale. Traccia per una grammatica (Pesaro), Sedimenta (Po Delta), Tara Europa Expedition (IT/FR), Nuovo Grand Tour (Domaine de Boisbuchet, FR), and Una Boccata d’Arte (Basilicata).
