True love is not just a feeling. It’s a way of being.
It’s easy to love when everything feels beautiful, when we’re understood, when the other person meets our expectations.
But beneath the surface, where fear, ego, disappointment and vulnerability live, love asks something deeper of us.
To pause before reacting.
To listen without preparing our defence.
To see another person, even when they hurt us.
To act with integrity, even when our emotions pull us elsewhere.
Perhaps true love isn’t about controlling what happens between us, but taking responsibility for who we choose to be within it.
Not possession. Not perfection. Not the absence of pain.
But the quiet strength to meet life, and each other, with honesty, courage and compassion.
This painting “Beneath the Surface” is a reflection of that unseen world - the depths that shape us, the truths we carry, and the beauty that exists beyond what the eye can see.
Because sometimes, the most meaningful things in life are the ones we have to look a little deeper to find. 🤍
Ps. Grateful to know this painting found a home where a piece of my heart lives as well. ❤️
