: ARCOLisboa
A contemporary art fair is never just about the artworks.

It is about the conversations they generate, the ideas they challenge, the stories they reveal and the connections they create.

This week, Lisbon Art Office had the pleasure of leading a private curated visit to ARCOLisboa for JLL guests, exploring a carefully selected group of galleries, artists and artistic perspectives shaping contemporary culture today.

From historic figures to emerging voices, from Portuguese artists to international dialogues, the journey offered an opportunity to look beyond the artwork itself and into the ecosystems that sustain artistic creation, collecting and cultural relevance.

At Lisbon Art Office, we believe that art becomes most meaningful when it creates bridges — between people, disciplines, ideas and ways of seeing the world.

Thank you to JLL for once again recognising the value of art as a catalyst for meaningful experiences and lasting connections.

: ART MOVEMENTS
The most interesting art movements today are the ones creating unexpected connections.

Contemporary art inside jewellery universes. Art installations inhabiting hotel lobbies. New audiences naturally crossing paths through beauty, craftsmanship and experience.

Castilho Art Week reflects this cultural shift particularly well.

Proud to see Beatriz Horta Correia, part of The Circle by Lisbon Art Office, presenting sublime works within Alexandra Matias Jewellery.

Also recommending Miguel Rodrigues’s installation at the Ritz lobby.

: ATELIER VISIT
A privileged return to the intimacy of creation.

This week, Lisbon Art Office stepped once again into the atelier of Portuguese artist António Vasconcelos Lapa, a place where matter, gesture and thought quietly anticipate what comes next.

Some atelier visits are not only about discovery, they are about envisioning where artistic narratives can resonate next.

While reflecting on future curatorial directions and artistic dialogues, we continue to deepen our commitment to artists whose work carries both identity and projection.

At Lisbon Art Office, we believe meaningful cultural positioning is built through vision, proximity and carefully curated connections.

: BEYOND SELECTION
Art advisory goes further than curation.
It operates at the point where vision becomes decision, where what is seen is translated into direction.

Working across contexts like Munich and its institutional ecosystem, the role is not only to identify relevant works, but to understand how they function — within spaces, narratives, and positioning strategies.

Because selecting is one part.
Placing, aligning, and activating is the real work.

This is where art becomes a tool, not only of expression, but of identity, differentiation, and value.

And this is where art advisory operates: between the artwork and its purpose.

: CURATION, ON THE GROUND
A selection built through presence.
Munich sets the pace, where institutions like the Pinakothek der Moderne operate with clarity, and exhibitions such as Reflexion frame how contemporary art is being constructed today.

From the material precision of Daniel Grüttner to the symbolic intensity of Sandra Vásquez de la Horra, alongside works by Olafur Eliasson, David Hockney and Gerhard Richter — this is a system where legacy and experimentation coexist without compromise.

Curation is not accumulation.
It is selection with intent.

An exercise in reading context, identifying relevance, and constructing a coherent visual language.

This is the starting point.

: FROM MAN TO MYTH Art Exhibition
There is a moment where the body resists, but something deeper takes over. Not performance. Not spectacle. Something far more essential.

This exhibition moves within that space — where instinct, discipline and inner force collide. Where the individual confronts what cannot be avoided.

Luciana Mendé captures this tension with a raw, almost visceral precision. Her images reveal the man stripped of context, reduced to presence, decision, and edge.

In dialogue, Joana Paiva Nunes constructs luminous thresholds — fragments of a larger narrative where fate, solitude and awareness quietly emerge.

Together, they do not illustrate. They expose.
A state of being. A crossing point.

This is not about what is seen.
It is about what is faced.
