NEW ARRIVALS AT ROOTS ✨

Lion — Half Pigmented, Half Not

NEW ARRIVALS AT ROOTS ✨

Two new mixed-media works by Marta Alabau have just arrived at Roots, exploring different references and visual languages.

La Joven de La Perla — Tiffany & Co. Edition
A contemporary reinterpretation of Vermeer’s iconic Girl with a Pearl Earring, bringing together art history, fashion and visual culture. The intricate mask and Tiffany & Co. references transform a classic image into something bold and unexpected.

Lion — Half Pigmented, Half Not
A work built around contrast. Through colour, graphic forms and less pigmented areas, the lion is deconstructed and reinterpreted, creating a visual dialogue between different forms of representation.

Two distinct works, both created in mixed media, revealing the unique vision of Marta Alabau.

“What is Roots Art Gallery?”
It’s hard to define it in just one thing. 🎨

We are a contemporary art gallery, a coffee place, a co-working space, a store, a meeting point and a place where we create experiences around art and culture.

Here, you can discover emerging artists, work surrounded by art, enjoy a coffee, taste a w**e, join an event, take a piece of Roots with you or simply walk in and stay for a while.

Because we believe art shouldn’t only live on the walls.
It should be part of the way we live.
