Lisa is joining us for a pop-up art exhibit in conjunction with ARTful Andover, a town wide celebration of art.

Join us for the following Free events, open to the public:

Lisa Hertel is an artist from a long line of artists. After 25 years as
a pharmacist, she quit her day job to pursue a career in art. Her other
passions include speculative fiction and volunteering; she helps run
literary science fiction conventions. She has been an Andover resident
for 33 years.

Lisa Hertel’s art is mixed, both 2D and 3D, in a variety of media. She is willing to learn and try anything new. A potter since the age of seven, she makes a variety of ceramics, including wheel work and sculptural items. She loves to draw, and does both pencil work and intensely detailed pen-and inks; she also paints, mostly in watercolors, and does wire sculpture. She often combines media, such as adding watercolors to
the pen-and-inks, or using glass in her pottery. Lisa also enjoys encaustics (painting with hot wax) and alcohol inks. A life-long learner, Lisa has taken classes in blacksmithing, glass blowing, paper-making, stained glass, and glass fusing. She offers classes in her
accessible Haverhill studio, and is highly vested in the success of her students.

Rebecca Perry grew up immersed in nature, growing up in the countryside of England and then the peaceful north shore of Massachusetts. She creates reflections of her surroundings using primarily oil on canvas. She also creates abstract pieces. As a self taught artist she explores new techniques as she grows as an artist.

I see my candid street portrait and documentary photographs as an invitation for the viewer to pause and actively participate in each unique captured moment. To slow down and notice something new, or to see familiar sights from a new perspective. At times to recognize communities and lives that are rarely shown in full light. My intent is to bring a viewpoint that conveys the essence of my subjects and their environments with intimacy and authenticity.
I have been a resident of Andover for over forty years. I have studied at the New England School of Photography and the Fine Arts Work Center. My images have been exhibited often in museums and galleries, and are also held in private collections. Please visit andoveratwork.com for information on my most recent project.

Meet from Studio 10 Interior at fiVO Studios.

Rachel Pronovost is a multidisciplinary artist who finds her deepest creative connection through clay. She attended high school at Interlochen Arts Academy and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Over the years, her practice has moved fluidly between photography, collage, painting, fiber arts, and ceramics — always driven by curiosity and the desire to explore new textures, forms, and ideas.
While her creative path has taken many shapes, Rachel continually returns to ceramics. It is the medium that most fully grounds her — bringing her back to the body, the breath, and a sense of creative vitality. She’s drawn to the immediacy of ceramic work, the intuitive aesthetic decisions it demands, and the way it invites quiet contemplation in both process and use.
Rachel’s ceramic practice lives under the name Ritual and Vessel — a reflection of her belief that functional art can transform the everyday. Her hope is that each handmade piece becomes part of someone’s daily rhythms, turning ordinary moments into meaningful rituals. She primarily works with underglaze and colored clay to create expressive, tactile surfaces that invite touch and connection.

Sally Gello-Silvers is a mixed media artist. She received a B.A. with a minor in Art in college and thereafter, over the years, took numerous courses at the Museum of Fine
Arts, Boston, Massachusetts, Montserrat School of Art, Concord Art, Essex Art, Ipswich Art and Art Studio 37, all in Massachusetts.
Each of us carries with us a rich reserve of images, experiences and emotions. Some of those images and experiences include nature, events happening around us, current social issues, happiness, grief, loss and joy to name a few.
As an artist, Gello-Silvers expresses emotions, images and experiences carried with her through the years by putting charcoal, unique papers, fibers, string, photos, ink, paints and just about anything that moves her onto paper and then layers with different textures, shapes and color. Transforming these images and emotions through the use of different mediums, she taps into what is within, brings it forward and creates works
of art that can be shared with others. Because art is personal, Sally asks her viewers to see what resonates with them as they view the work and to pay homage to their own experiences and emotions and those of others urging her viewers to live in the moment, be kind and generous to each other.
Her work has been exhibited at the Memorial Hall Library in Andover, Massachusetts and The Sohier Room at the Beverly Public Library in Beverly, Massachusetts.
She is a member of the Newburyport Art Association in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

David Blaine has nothing on Nicole Guilmartin. When she puts her magical touch on an event, you know it.

Just a swipe of her wand (AKA pen and planner) and a TV studio becomes an electric space of slinky chandeliers and a glowing dance floor. A tiresome mall transforms into a lavish art gallery and lively bistro. A barren warehouse is now a energetic fitness destination of fresh juices, workouts and wellness.

This is Nicole Guilmartin Events – full-scale event planning and performance that knows no boundaries. She takes raw spaces and reinvents them with creative concepts only true illusionists could envision and employ. No actual hocus pocus. Just serious talent.

Consider her an event whisperer, calmly managing the entire project from start to finish (translation: everyone and everything is under her soothing spell and all ducks happily fall into a row). Collaborative and innovative projects are her passion, as she dreams up the unusual and sees it through to completion.

A Bryant University grad with a business degree in marketing, when she’s not executing the events of a lifetime, Nicole is taking cues from Mother Nature - hiking, beaching or skiing when the weather gives the green light. While movement feeds her active and creative mind, Nicole doesn’t discount a relaxing day at home with her own party of four – husband Joe, son Joey, daughter Alice and pup Chief.
