Robert C. Williams Paper Museum

Robert C. Williams Paper Museum The Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking collects, preserves, and interprets the past, present,

Many rare artifacts traveled with the Institute of Paper, Science, and Technology from Appleton, WI, to Atlanta, GA, and are now part of a permanent collection tracing the fascinating history of papermaking from its earliest antecedents to the advanced technology of today -- from ancient Sumerian cuneiform tablets to the exquisite chiaroscuro watermarked papers still made in Fabriano, a well-known

papermaking center in the Marches region of Italy. The museum's critically acclaimed changing exhibition gallery showcases various interpretations and uses of paper as a viable and diverse medium by hosting exhibitions by contemporary artists working in the allied fields of paper, printmaking, and book arts.

The next month is going to be a little tricky to visit the museum - but we're still open! A major water main replacement is happening in the intersection of 10th and Hemphill, the corner where the museum is located. To access our parking lot, you will have to come through Tech's campus and then head north on Hemphill. Make a left onto 9th street, and at the end of the street turn right into our parking lot. We're worth the detour! (Check out the link below for more information and a map)

Thursday, March 5 — Please be aware that Atlanta Watershed is on campus performing emergency water line work on Hemphill Ave near 8th Street. Full details here.Bus routes have been modified due to temporary street closures. Full details here.
