23% in just over a week. We are so grateful.

This map gives a better sense of what is coming next around The Edgar Allan Poe House (lower left corner, you have to squint to see it!) Buildings 904 and 906, immediately south and southwest of the museum, are among the next scheduled for demolition.

We are now talking with independent firms about vibration assessment and monitoring as that work moves closer. Those costs are not yet included in the more than $50,000 in extraordinary expenses already facing Poe Baltimore.

The Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum in Baltimore is launching a $50,000 emergency fundraising campaign to help protect the historic site during nearby demolition work.

Several news outlets and reporters have shared our story, but I was just asked this question today: “Is Poe House in trouble?”

Poe House is open. We support the redevelopment happening around us. But the museum is facing some very real challenges as demolition moves closer: tens of thousands of dollars in unexpected costs are a heartache and a serious problem for a small organization.

So, is Poe House in trouble? We’re working very hard to make sure the answer is NO. But we do need help.

This campaign reached 20% this AM thanks to the support of our community and from Poe House supporters around the country. There's more work to do, but we thank you for helping Stand Guard For Poe House.
