From the giant DNA sculpture on our plaza, to designing rockets like an engineer and meeting a legless lizard, you'll have a whale of a time! Our science center at UC Berkeley is designed to inspire tomorrow’s scientists, where their imaginations can run wild. ce in school, there’s a good chance you may have learned it from the Lawrence Hall of Science. While we’re known for our science center, we’re also innovators in science education, creating curricula that build wonder and fascination while reaching millions of students each year.

We are star studded! We had Oakland’s own, Grammy Award-winning Alphabet Rockers performed at our Earth Day Celebration this year. A huge thank you to East Bay Municipal Utility District, who made this possible!

The performance brought Alphabet Rockers together with Oakland rapper Gina Madrid to debut “H2Flow en Español.” The original English version of “H2Flow” was developed in 2025 for World Water Day in collaboration with EBMUD and students from Piedmont Avenue Elementary School in Oakland.

“H2Flow” highlights the journey of each drop from the Mokelumne River to the tap and reinforces the message that water is for everyone, encouraging listeners to skip bottled water and “drink the clean water flow—just like that.”

This is the first time for me, and I’m 95! My name is Dolores Lameira. I'm an elder, retired Ohlone Tribal leader. Now that I’m retired, I don't play a role in my community unless they come to me and want to know something. It’s surprising to me that a lot of people are interested in our history, but it’s wonderful. Bring your family and your friends. Please come. Let them enjoy the beauty that's in here. The Lawrence Lobby is Getting a Makeover—and it Starts With an Oak Tree 🌳

Walk into the Lawrence Hall of Science on May 16, and you might feel like you’ve stepped into something new. 🎲 Stick Dice Pilot and Counting in Chochenyo Cards, March 29–April 4
Come learn how to play the traditional Ohlone game of Stick Dice (ṭallik), which has stood the test of time as a way to preserve culture, build community, and have fun! Plus, learn to count in Chochenyo, the first language spoken in the East Bay.

On Sunday, April 26th, experience a special live performance from Oakland’s own, Grammy Award-winning Alphabet Rockers, sponsored by East Bay Municipal Utility District, including the premiere of the Spanish-language version of their song, “H2Flow en Español.”
