Clarke County Historical Association Founded in 1939, the Clarke County Historical Association is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of Clarke County.

CCHA is also the proprietor of the historic Burwell-Morgan Mill. Welcomes all members, volunteers, and patrons.

This postcard published in the early 1900s boasts a picturesque view of historic Old Stone Chapel near Millwood. The inscription on the back of the postcard reads “you dear old girl…” and is signed Mamie. The postcard is recorded as being originally printed in Germany.

We’re still thinking about the landmark Kentucky Derby win from this past weekend, and this photograph holds the same energy.

This horse race took place at the 1964 Clarke County Fair. Jimmy Morris is riding the lead horse, with Larry Myers close behind, and Randy Goldeizen in the background close to railing with a group of excited spectators cheering them on.
