For the past year, the National Animation Museum has been collaborating with students and emerging animators to animate and bring our logo to life, originally designed by MinaLima.

We're excited to welcome our next featured animator, Fiji Simon! Based in Pasadena, California, Fiji specializes in CG animation and is a recent graduate of ArtCenter College of Design.

Take a look at a sneak peek of her animation!

The National Animation Museum recently joined our collaborator Param Foundation based in India for a virtual educational program.

Our Creative Director Robin Stapley led a session with 40 students, introducing the fundamentals of stop motion animation, storytelling, and design. Through hands-on learning and creative exploration, students discovered how their own ideas could take shape as animated stories.

We’re proud to support learning opportunities that inspire creativity, curiosity, and the next generation of storytellers.

The National Animation Museum team recently visited Jaws: The Exhibition, the largest mounted exhibition ever for Jaws, at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

Jaws didn’t just change the movie industry, it also redefined what animatronics could do on screen.

The film’s mechanically animated shark, nicknamed “Bruce,” was a bold experiment in bringing lifelike movement into a real ocean environment. But what worked in controlled tests quickly broke down in saltwater. That mix of innovation and unpredictability is now part of film history, and similar animatronic sharks would later impress guests at Universal Studios theme parks around the world.

Check out Jaws: The Exhibition at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures through July 26!
