It has been a mad dash behind the scenes as our conservation and installation teams add the finishing touches to Life, Liberty, and Los Angeles. Here, our Autry textile conservator has been busy making the final adjustments to this 1940s style zoot suit created by El Pachuco Zoot Suit for the exhibition. Life, Liberty, and Los Angeles opens May 30th.

Ready for a parade of Western style? This dazzling white plastic saddle, decked out in hand-painted roses and shiny silver conchos, was Roy Rogers’ ride of choice as Marshal and Grand Marshal of the Tournament of Roses. With its bold black trim and matching gear, it’s a showstopper!
