Call For Artists for the Dorothy Sorensen Painting Award for 2026.

Available for any Cadillac area artist over 30 years of age who produce representational works in oil or acrylic
Applicants must reside in one of the NW Regional Counties

$500
Available for tuition for an art class or art supplies. Report of expenditures to be provided by winner to UNA within 60 days of receipt of award.

Selection Criteria
Use of color, accuracy to reality, technique, perspective, and charm

To be awarded annually at the time of the Phyllis Olson Art Fair. Applicants must submit one painting in person, by appointment, by June 30th to: Up North Arts 601 Chestnut Street, Cadillac, Michigan 49601

The board of Up North Arts will select the winner. Award will be paid by check at the Phyllis Olson Annual Juried Art Fair

Up North Arts (UNA) is offering a unique opportunity for our members!

We will have a member booth at the Phyllis Olson Art Fair on July 17 and 18, 2026 for members to sell their artwork.

You can share a booth with other Up North Arts members to display and sell your artwork without all the work! Share the space, share the work!

A $5 non-refundable application fee will be collected when you register.

Rules and Guidelines:

- All artwork (no crafts) must be original.

- Must have an up to date Up North Arts membership. Purchase membership through our website before applying to participate.

- A 20% commission will be charged on all sales which will go to Up North Arts. Payouts will be made the following week by mail.

- Member artists must be at least 16 years old.

- Member Artists do not have to be at the art fair, but are encouraged to volunteer at the member booth.



How to Apply:

- Email [email protected] , by mail, or register online.

- Send two photos of your artwork to [email protected] with your name & 2026 Member Booth in the subject line immediately after applying.

- Indicate whether you need wall or table space.

- Hanging art work must be ready to hang.

- Include your name, address, phone number, and email address.

- State if you would you be able to volunteer (setup, work at the booth, takedown)

- If applying by mail, send check for $5 application fee to Up North Arts, 601 Chestnut Street, Suite C, Cadillac, Michigan 49601



Please apply by June 15, 2026. Once accepted, you will be notified via email and receive further instructions.
