I recently heard this wonderful yoga studio will be torn down. —-Murals I’ve painted have been painted over before and I have been totally fine with it. Kids grow up, nurseries get painted over, stores change locations. It’s all part of our turning world! This mural being torn feels a bit different. It’s incredibly sad..and strangely appropriate, considering the message of transformation. Pittsboro is going through change. It’s a wonderful location and has a lot of character. This mural will always have a special place in my heart. It was a first public art call I applied for and earned, the monks .usa walked by it;), butterflies and flowers are my favorite subject to paint and theme felt so right for this beautiful business in such a sweet setting. Cheers to a season of change. Namaste

In honor of honored local female artist. I’m grateful for my creative inspirations: “As a woman, I wear many hats — sister, friend, daughter, mother, wife— and each role enriches and informs my artistic endeavors. My sisters, intimately acquainted with the intricacies of my life, consistently uplift me. My friends infuse my days with laughter and inspiration, often igniting sparks of creativity within me. My mother, a resilient and compassionate New Yorker, instilled in me the understanding that one cannot please everyone and that true joy emanates from diligent effort-lessons I carry into my art, especially when facing public exposure. My dad empowered me to believe, no job is too big, “measure twice, cut once” and to finish what I start. He showed me how to use power tools and heavy machinery, never implying I couldn’t fix something because I was “just a girl.”
Supported whole-heartedly by my husband and three sons, I find strength and encouragement to pursue my artistic passions. The quilt of my life, woven from these diverse experiences and relationships, shape the art I create.”

I don’t typically paint much outside bt Dec-mid March. I did this in mid March a few years ago and it was cold! I don’t paint in the winter for good reason- 1, I hate being cold, 2, Frozen fingers don’t always do what your brain tells them and lastly, paint doesn’t like the cold!! So indoor murals for me! Snowing today, but tomorrow it could be 75… you never know here! Thank you for capturing
