Flash back to West Virginia's 100th birthday celebration! On June 20th, 1963, John F. Kennedy visited West Virginia to deliver a speech for the state's centennial celebration at the Capitol where he famously opened with:

“The sun does not always shine in West Virginia, but the people always do, and l am delighted to be here."
