Woman Made Gallery is proud to present Routes & Roots, a juried virtual exhibition exploring immigration and migration through the eyes of women and non-binary artists.

Juried by Eliana Miranda, Routes & Roots takes its name from the two forces that shape every immigrant story: the paths we travel and the ties we carry. Together, the selected works map a vast and varied terrain, from border crossings, bureaucratic ordeals and the ache of exile and the quiet labor of belonging.

Check out Dorothy Azari Straughter's "Resilience" quilt which began in September 2025. It is complete and viewable in all its magnificent artistry. It is meaningful and beautiful.

The Resilience quilt honors survival, collective memory, and the enduring strength of women and marginalized communities through layered fabrics, stitching, and symbolic patterns that transform quilting into both artistic and historical practice.

Viewable at WMG through June 20 during regular gallery hours.

✨ Our Bodies Luminous curators are hosting a workshop! ✨ This event is grounded in Diamond Forde’s poem “fat girl Dances with a Stranger at a Block Party.”

Writers of all levels are invited to construct a gratitude journal from paper and found materials to house a poem. Participants will explore craft elements that convey celebration in poetry, including sound, rhyme scheme, and point of view, through a generative writing session.

Workshop materials are included in the fee for this event. Attendees can register for this Bodies Luminous workshop through the workshop section on our website or through the Linktree in our bio! Can't wait to see you there!
