Nicholson House boarding house corner N Main St & Valley ST in Clayton looks circa 1940's run by Mrs Roscoe (Emma) Nicholson, wife of Forest Service Range Roscoe Nicholson. Closed in 1980's and building gone. The Nicholson's also built the rock house on the right. The house is still there although all the rock work was painted over.

Pool building at Rabun County Country Club circa 1950's built by WPA. Had separate changing rooms & bath room for boys & girls. The country club also had 9 hole golf course (18 if you played it twice) & tennis courts. There is only the golf course now.

1925 Photo of New Rabun Hotel in Mountain City, later called Colonial Lodge. It was at the corner of US 441 & Black Rock Road. The hotel was torn down & is now a trailer park. We were told women on right was Helen Wilson Queen, and woman on left was Beth Moon.

Toccoa Falls in Stephens County, our neighbor to the South. The 186' waterfall is located on the campus of the Toccoa Falls College. The waterfall can be viewed by going through the visitor center and paying a nominal fee. There was a lake and dam up above the falls. Nov 6, 1977, the dam ruptured and flooded the area below killing 39 people.
