Antioch School on Warwoman. Don't why there are only boys in this picture. The 1914 Ga Dept of Education survey for Rabun County does not list an Antioch School, but it does list a Warwoman School, may be the same one.

Photo looking South on Main Street in Clayton 1940's. Standard Oil sign is for Derrick's filling Station, which is to the left of this picture. The Reeves Hardware buildings in the center, Roy Green's Cafe to the right of those. Derrick's station was where Prater Bookstore was and is now Rabun Social Restaurant.

W/S of South Main St in downtown Clayton circa 1965. The theatre next to the Clayton Market is shut down, sign for Fran's Gift Shop (part of Reeves). Parking meters still in use. Our notes say in 1940 Clayton Market was owned by Louie Young then later Claude James. Photo purchased from Edd Edwards 11-21-03 in a group of 50 photos by Bob Edwards. The Bank of Clayton was just to the left (not in this picture).

1950's Christmas parade picture of North Main Street in Clayton, the parade heading south. Note the ice hanging off the trees. Sign for Bleckley Motel on left. Did not take very long before the parade organizers figured out they needed to have the horses go last in the parade.

Savannah Street in Clayton looking West photo circa 1950's. Look closely, you can see buildings for: Elliott's Market, beside it a sign for a Grill, on right the courthouse, 2 story jail & then 2 buildings may have been residences, where the Dollar Tree is now. Looks to be winter , and lot a people & cars, may have been for the Christmas parade. Purchased from Edd Edwards 11-21-03 in group of 50 Rabun County Photos.

Bleckley Motel in Clayton on N Main Street in 1950's, located next to Cheryl Dillard's attorney office. For a while, it was used as an assisted livinghome. This building was torn down and the new building was where Fortify Pi was moved to & also has ice cream shop.
