Join us on Friday, September 25 for an unforgettable evening of live music, community, and fall festivities at the Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points.

🍂Steinholding Contest Registration:
12 men and 12 women are encouraged to sign up for the regional qualifying round of the U.S. Steinholding Association that will take place at Oktoberfest. www.ussteinholding.com

Katsura Sunshine completed his grueling traditional apprenticeship in Rakugo comic storytelling under the great Rakugo Master Katsura Bunshi VI in 2011.
​
His performances have delighted audiences throughout the world as well as all over Japan.
​
Sunshine has graced the Broadway stage with a different delightful Japanese story each month since 2019, at the famous New World Stages in Manhattan.

How does Cleveland, TN connect to the Revolutionary War, and why is September 3rd a significant date?

Cleveland, in Bradley County, Tennessee, was named after Col. Benjamin Cleveland, whose leadership lead to the victory of a major battle during the Revolutionary War - the Battle of King's Mountain.

That victory helped to move the Revolutionary War nearer towards a close.

On this day in 1783 (September 3rd), the U.S. and Great Britain signed the Treaty of Paris, ending the war.

In the image, you will see a Giclee Print of the Oil Painting "Benjamin Cleveland's War Prize" by Oil Painter Don Troiani. This picture is in the museum's collection.

"History, Today"

September 2, 2026 marks the 86th anniversary of the dedication of the Chickamauga Dam by Franklin D. and Eleanor Roosevelt. The Chickamauga Dam is located on the Tennessee River just northeast of Downtown CHattanooga.

This paperweight (now located in the Mayor Emeritus Tom Rowland exhibit at the Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points) is made from the concrete platform on which the First Lady stood during the ceremony. Before the dedication, concrete had to be poured into the metal latticework on the Dam to prevent Eleanor Roosevelt's high heels from falling through!

🎶 What a Night with The Satin Dollz!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points for an unforgettable evening with The Satin Dollz! As part of our celebration of America's 250th Birthday, guests enjoyed a high-energy USO-style performance that brought the music, fashion, and patriotic spirit of the 1940s and 1950s to life.

From beloved swing tunes to classic rock 'n' roll hits, The Satin Dollz had the audience singing along, smiling, and celebrating together. It was a wonderful night filled with community, nostalgia, and appreciation for our nation's history.
