It has taken us a few days to process and reflect on the passing of our dear friend, Tedde Moore, who passed away on August 5, 2026.
Tedde was an amazing woman, and we will forever remember her as our Miss Shields. ❤️ She was kind, funny, full of wonderful stories, and always an A+++ in our book.
A few years ago, Tedde shared some of those stories in her booklet, My Christmas Story Memories. She wrote about her friendship with director Bob Clark, becoming Miss Shields while eight months pregnant, working alongside the incredible cast, and watching this little movie become something none of them could have ever imagined.
She also shared her memories of coming to Cleveland for the Grand Opening of the House in 2006, when, in Tedde’s own words, “it was just the kids, the teacher and two of the crazy Santa helper elves in Higbee’s Department Store who made up the motley crew.”
Thousands of fans traveled from across the country to be here, something that deeply touched Tedde:
“It was a tremendous experience, overwhelming and moving. All these people cared that much about our little film. It was really quite something.”
Tedde wrote about how so much of the story of A Christmas Story came down to following your dreams. Bob Clark dreamed of bringing Jean Shepherd’s stories to the screen. Brian Jones dreamed of creating a place where families could step inside the movie. And Tedde dreamed of becoming an actor.
She ended her booklet with words that seem especially meaningful today:
“I think that following your heart and following your dreams is a great key to happiness.”
We are so thankful Tedde followed hers, and so thankful that her journey became part of ours.
Our deepest condolences go out to Tedde’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.
