Cielo

I paint ragged clouds. A lot. I find the irregular shape more interesting than others like cumulus or cirrus clouds. In meteorology, they are called scud clouds, scientifically known as Pannus (from Latin for "rag.") Captured somewhere over New Mexico, probably near Taos.

GO FLY A KITE

The untethered kite in this painting comes from the fantasy I had as a very young boy that a kite could escape its string and fly away. Kite flying is such a fascinating intersection of art and science, a testament to human ingenuity and creativity deeply embedded in cultural traditions. I chose to portray this landscape with untraditional colors in the sky and clouds, alluding to the magic and wonder of simply flying a kite.

The original painting is oil on canvas, 36x36 inches, and is available at Korologos Gallery, Basalt, Colorado. www.korologosgallery.com
