Opening this month, Cascadia Art Museum presents the thought-provoking show: Shadows of a Fleeting World: Pictorial Photography and the Seattle Camera Club (SCC). The SCC was the first internationally known artists group from Washington State. Formed in 1924, the thirty-nine charter members were Issei, first generation Japanese immigrants. You won't want to miss it!

Drop-in to the Learning Gallery during Free to See Third Thursdays from 12:00pm - 2:00 pm for this FREE art-making opportunity.

Each month features a new, engaging project designed for all ages. No experience needed! We provide the materials and simple instructions; you bring the imagination.

Explore a stunning collection of late-19th century watercolors and pastels depicting the unique variations in our region's landscape. Using subtle washes of transparent color, the artists conveyed the Northwest's misty, atmospheric beauty before the rise of industrialization.

OPENING JUNE 17 - Shadows of a Fleeting World: Pictorial Photography and the Seattle Camera Club 📷

Discover the lasting legacy of the Seattle Camera Club (SCC), the first internationally known artists group from Washington state. Founded in 1924, the SCC was best known for their excellence in pictorialism, the use of photography as a fine arts medium.

Explore nearly seventy rare, original photographs from the 1920's, many of which are on public display for the first time in decades. On view at Cascadia Art Museum June 17 through September 13, 2026!
