NO SCHOOL MONDAY!
Celebrate Labor Day by discovering how artists, designers, builders, and inventors shape the world around us. In our first Studio Days, young artists will tackle creative design challenges, experiment with a variety of materials, and discover that making art is thoughtful, imaginative work.

Monday / Grades K–5 
9:00 am–12:00 pm

Suggested Pay What You Can Donation
$35 per Studio Day
All materials and a snack are included.

Studio Days are immersive, single-day arts experiences designed for young artists on school holidays and institute days. Inspired by Side Street Studio Arts’ mission of exploration, creativity, and community, each Studio Day features a unique theme with hands-on projects, collaborative making, gallery experiences, and opportunities to experiment with a variety of artistic materials and techniques.

The Theater is up a flight of stairs and not wheelchair accessible.

This show is on view during one of Elgin's biggest events: Nightmare on Chicago Street (taking place October 16 & 17). Hundreds of people walk through the gallery and will see your art!

👽👹 DID YOU HEAR? The deadline to submit to Something Wicked has been extended to Sept. 15! 👾 🧟

Something Wicked is celebrating its 14th year showcasing a variety of visual arts whose subject matter is meant to instill a sense of wonder, awe, and perhaps a little dread within Elgin’s vibrant arts community.

This exhibitions is on view when Elgin hosts Nightmare on Chicago Street - the midwest's largest immersive horror event! Hundreds of people go through the gallery during that event and they will see your art! Get those submissions in! We will also accept works in progress.

Bring your current project or start something new using a selection of shared art supplies and materials. Whether you paint, draw, knit, collage, write, bead, crochet, or simply enjoy creating alongside others, Makers Night offers space to connect, make, and be inspired. Stop by between 6pm - 8pm.
