🇺🇸🎨 We asked young people to imagine America 250 years from now.

Nathan Adeosun, a 12-year-old Elgin student, imagined a future where Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness are more than ideals—they are lived realities.

His vision was unanimously selected for Elgin’s America’s 250th Public Art Project. Over the coming months, Nathan will work alongside local professional artists, Side Street Studio Arts, the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission, Your Neighbor, and community partners to transform his concept into a permanent public artwork to be unveiled on August 8, 2026 at AREA 22 Arts, Crafts & Oddities Fair.

We are grateful to every young artist who shared their creativity, ideas, and hopes for the future through this project. Your optimism and imagination remind us that the future is something we build together.

🏳️‍🌈 Join Side Street Studio Arts and Elgin Fringe Festival for Elgin Pride Parade & Festival: June 6, 2026!

We’re looking for volunteers to help us prepare for and participate in a series of events leading up to and during the Elgin Pride Parade on Saturday, June 6th.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:
🎨 Window Painting — Sunday, May 31st, 10:30AM-2PM, 62 S. Grove Ave: Join us in painting the windows at our new at 62 S. Grove Ave.

🖌️ Banner Making - Monday, June 1st, 5:30pm-7:30pm, 15 Ziegler Court: Help us create one or two giant, Pride-inspired banners for the parade!

🌈 Truck/Float Decoration — Friday, June 5th, 5PM-9PM, 15 Ziegler Court: Help us decorate our Truck/Float for the Pride Parade! We will have supplies for making signs, flowers, flags, etc., along with pre-made decorations to apply.

📣 Pride Parade Crew — Saturday, June 6th, 10:30AM-1PM, Downtown Elgin: March with us in the Elgin Pride Parade, helping distribute handouts and leaflets to the crowd.

🌸 Festival Volunteers (June 6th, after the parade | 2PM-5PM, approximately): Support our booth at the Pride Festival, which will include setting up a Mini-MADE retail station and art-making stations where attendees can create their own Pride buttons and bracelets.

We can't wait to spend PRIDE with you!
